1. SMART Scholarship
Deadline: Dec. 1
Award: $38,000
Scholarship Overview: Applicant must be a U.S. citizen who will be 18 or older on Aug. 1, 2016. Applicant must be able to participate in summer internships at Department of Defense laboratories and willing to accept post-graduate employment with the DoD.

2. Dr. Robert H. Goddard Scholarship
Deadline: Dec. 2
Award: $10,000
Scholarship Overview: Applicants must be at least juniors at an accredited college or university and must have the intention of pursuing studies in science or engineering. Similar scholarships are available on the website.

3. Most Valuable Student Competition
Deadline: Dec. 4
Award: Up to 50,000
Scholarship Overview: Applicants must be submitted to the Elks Lodge closest to the student’s permanent address. College students are not eligible to apply.

Award: Up to $25,000
Scholarship Overview: Open to high school seniors who have demonstrated achievement in school, the community, or the workplace. Applicant must respond to essay questions.

Scholarship Overview: Open to high school seniors entering a four year, US college or university in 2016. Applicant must be on an athletic team or involved in after-school sports.

10. Michigan Chronicle S.W.A.G. Scholarship
